That was my prayer during my MRI yesterday. I had to get an MRI on my foot and ankle. I have had a lot of pain and my doctor said it was time. I trust him, He is like family to me out here, like another dad. (don't worry daddy, no one could ever replace you). So anyway I had no idea what I was getting into. This guy takes me to this trailer on the parking lot and says I hope you aren't clastraphobic cause you are going to be laying in this tube for an hour. EXCUSE ME? FOR A MINOR FOOT PAIN? So anyway he puts my foot and leg in this wierd position and says you can't move at all. Great. Before I know it my foot is hurting in the position it is in and it is getting cold quickly. So what am I going to do to pass the time... WhOMp WhomP BaM CLiCK pssszz WHOMp ok this machine was so stinking loud. It was like the most annoying alarm clock going off for an hour. So they gave me ear plugs so i can't say I wasn't warned. I just figured from the insane weekend (yet awesome) that I could sleep through it. I mean I can sleep through anything including my alarm clock which is quite annoying. I couldn't sleep though. I decided that I would pray then. So i start to pray and let me tell you the noises they just kept going, I couldn't concentrate so my prayer quickly turned to... Dear Lord, This is nuts. You know that? This is a crazy invention here, interestesting but Crazy. Thank you for it... I think... this is nuts. Amen.
I think I also learned that it is very hard for me to stay still for an extended period of time. I kept telling myself not to move. The more I told myself that the more my muscles were contracting and trying to move. I was so relieved when that was over.
This weekend was amazing. The community really showed up to the baseball clinic! We had over 125 kids show up and abouy 75 parents stay. We fed over 200 people and the players and all of the River Cats people were just awesome! One of the players shared his Faith Story and I really think that it was positive and God was moving through it. They left asking if we could do this again next year! On sunday we went to the stadium early and we parading around the field. One of the players recognized our kids and tshirts after the game so he stayed and talked to them and signed their shirts and stuff. We had about 150 people attend the game and everyone had a great time!
The picture is of me and my partner in crime Jennifer. She is who I go biking with and she is also who keeps me sane on the huge projects! She is a life saver!
