Meery Christmas everyone! I'm writing to you from the Sacramento Airport anxiously waiting to get to St. Louis to celebrate Christmas tonight with family and friends. I was driving from Lodi to Galt early this morning to get a ride to the airport. As I was driving on the country roads I saw a rainbow. Though I was by myself I said, "That's just like you God... go ahead and remind us of why we are celebrating today by sky writing it" That's right.. We are celebrating because all of God's promises have come and will come true. One of my favorite Sunday School songs reminds me of this, "A rainbow is a promise that God is in control, A rainbow is a promise that He'll never let us go"
As we celebrate, remember that God is in control and He promises that. He is so in control He knew that over 2000 years ago he needed (well we needed it, God wanted to) to send his Son to so that he would eventually die on the cross to save us from our sins.
Much love and Blessings.. its time for me to get on a flight!
Love,
Mel

Where did October go?
ThePictures Top Left, my 2 pumpkins Top Right, Katy and I trying to put Cole's hand print on a pumpkin (Not successful), Bottom, Cole's first trip to the pumpkin patch. And the Mohawk is real. No finagaling.
I can't believe it's the end of October. Where is life going. I came to a conclusion with my best friend that 2008 hasn't been the most glorious of years. I'm not trying to get rid of it from the memory or anything... I think its been a year of stretching and learning and rebuilding. I've learned so much about myself, about others and about life in general. I can't believe its the end of October, and I plan to enjoy November and December, but I truly look forward to 2009!
This month.. Hmm. Katy and I took Cole to the pumpkin patch and we made fabulous pumpkins.
I started going for long walks and jogs again. I had missed that. The weather has been gorgous out here. The mornings and evenings are cool and the temps during the day get a little high for fall, but its still quite nice.
We had a Willow Creek conference at our church (via sattelite), I took a few junior high girls to the Revolve ALL ACCESS tour, and this weekend is The harvest festival and a disco night party for youth group. My weekends were and are all shot.
Today I start coaching cheerleading. Lord give me strength. I'm not sure if its the girls I'm concerned about or Momma Drama...but I am going to have a no drama rule. I know what I was like in junior high cheer... not good. Apparently with coaching 6-8th graders I get the 1-5th grade "junior cheer" I was just made aware of this and am thinking I may loose my mind. The school's Christmas program is quickly approaching as well. In an effort to make it something that we could invite pre-christians to and know that they would feel confortable and understand it, I voluteered to run in the past two years. We have try-outs next week. Thankfully a lot of parents are involved or you may see bald Mel.
Our New DCE arrives on Thursday. I think tears of joy will run down my face when he gets here. I can't wait to be "fully staffed" again.
Sometime in November, I get a new office. The idea of being able to go to work and not hear every single thing that happens in this office gives me so much joy, I can't imagine how much more work I'll get done having a functional office... I've looked at a corned for over 4 years now. I am going shopping with 2 ladies from church soon. We are going to get new stuff for my office and make it oh so cute and fun and functional. Pictures will come. Right now the office space is framework and electrical work and my office has a huge pile of insulation in it..
Well, its that time, to go back to work. Blessings on your day!

halloween
.jpg)
So, i am not the biggest fan of halloween but I love it because of the costumes. I like to see people's creativity shine. Last night I was hanging out with Katy and her family and we were coming up with funny costumes. While I was waiting at the lab on Friday there was a Family Circle magazine and they had a sushi costume... who thinks these things up? So I have been my fair share of amazing homemade creations throughout my entire life... but back by popular demand is the Baked Potato.
this is for you Poker Night! :)

update.
Hey.
So not too much going on. I am sitting in my family room with Cole. He just fell asleep and we are going to go set up for sunday school in about an hour. He's getting so big.
I went and got my blood work done today. I should have the results on Monday or Tuesday. I am excited for that.
Tonight, Katy and I are heading to the Lincoln Brewster Concert at Bayside church. I saw him 3 years ago in concert at Raley Field. I think more than the concert I am excited for Katy and I to get to have girl time together.
here are some pictures of cole. I will post pictures of our new sunday school after we set up for it today. Its so exciting!!! We had close to 80 kids 0-8th grade at "The Wave" last sunday. That's huge growth for us... its amazing what some paint, props, decorations and love can do!

its about time.
So I know this is strange to post online but quite frankly i am so excited to go to a doctor that cares that I don't care that I am posting it for the whole world to see... well at least the 5 or so people who are my avid readers.
For 8 years now (most likely longer) I have been dealing with some issues in my health that no doctor has fully been able to explain, or figure out or taken the time to get down to the nitty gritty. Well folks, I feel like those days are over. I went to an amazing nurse practitioner today and she is getting me in with her boss who is an amazing OBGYN who is very well known in lodi. They are going to order me up some blood tests and other tests and get an action plan going. Right now is looks like it could be PCOS but I have been tested for that in the past and the tests came back negative but it looks like that won't be the answer they leave me with if it comes back negative again... they will check it out further. There are some pretty serious and sad side effects to PCOS... I am not thinking about that right now though since it may not be the case. I am just quite hopeful of the future and thats a super good feeling!
if you want to check it out you can go to www.webmd.com and read about it there.

Kat and Josh's wedding
Here are a few pictures from Kat and Josh's wedding we went to this past Saturday. There were 9 of us in the group that were there together. Kat is a DCE in Milpitas. We went to the wedding at her church and then 8 of us went to Dave and Busters to kill some time between the wedding and reception and then went to their very nice reception in a friends back yard.

Washington!
Last Saturday, August 2nd, mom dad and I flew to Seattle to see Brandon and Carole. I unfortunately had to come back last night but I had a great few days with the whole family together. We played a ton of mario cart on wii, I finally got to go wakeboarding again, had some brother and sister tubing time, painted pottery with the girls, got to see Carole's new scooter and Brandon at work. We took a family day to Seattle yesterday, took tons of pictures in elevators and got some good R and R. Most of the pictures are on mom and dads camera so when I get them... you'll see them.
Check out Brandon and Carole's blog to check out some pictures.

Mom and Dad came to visit part 2
we went and played at my roommates family business called "Someplace Fun" They are sadly having to close on August 10th because of the economy but we made sure memories were made there before they shut the doors. This is mom climbing up the 30 foot slide!
Daddy and I went through the obstacle course and about killed each other. It takes a lot out of me to say this, but he beat me twice.

follow rules? No way. I ran down the slide. What a rush!
I had a bit of a rough sunday night. This is Monday morning.
I introduced my parents to Ikea. moment of silence. I LOVE THAT STORE!

June
In June I had family camp, my 26th birthday, vacation bible school, and the junior high district youth gathering at mt. Cross. It was a very very very busy month! I can't believe how fast it went and how much happened during it! I can't say too many exciting things happened.
