a kick in the pa tu tu

so a friend gave me a kick in the rear today with a "cute" story about how there once was a girl who used to bug people about updating her blog and now in all her craziness she is one that isn't updating her blog... yadda yadda yadda... that if I would update my blog and put pictures in it then my friends and family would comment and blah blah blah... so this blog entry is for you! :)

What has been going on?? What hasn't been going on really? Every friday I tell myself I am going to take the day off stay home and clean my house, especially my room and do laundry. Let's just say I hope I don't get any suprise visitors anytime soon because the room is a disaster and a half. I do have laundry going right now. (its 1 am as I write this)

I joined a gym about a month and a half ago. I have been really enjoying it but I have been going really late at night and haven't been able to get a program set up with the machines, I have been primarily doing the treadmill and bike. Going late at night has added a ton of stories to my brain. I sometimes don't know if I should laugh, be appalled or sad. One of my favorites though is the guy that works the graveyard shift there (its a 24 hour gym) 5 nights a week... to say the least he is a flirt(and I would rather he wasn't) and really bad picking out music to work out to. One night I went in and Vanilla Ice was playing... ok I can't lie, I might have sung along a little, but seriously?!

I got an x-ray on friday. My left foot hurts real bad. Craig, the dad of a family who is very near and dear to me out here is an orthapedic surgeon. His wife told me I needed to go in and have him xray it. Its one of two things... its either just real bad inflamation or I will have to go get a bone scan done and its a stress fracture. He told me I can't run or do extensive walking for a week. If it still hurts, then bone scan it is... yipee! I don't know what will happen.

So it was Easter this weekend!!!! Happy Easter. I spent Saturday night finding an outfit to wear. I think I do that every year... wait til the last hours that stores are open to find an outfit. I took my two fashion coordinators with me and we were eventually successful. I also made 4 egg casseroles on Saturday and two round cakes to make the one, the only , the bunny cake! I felt so domesticated, it was kind of great. On Sunday church was so amazing! It was so awesome to see so many people there! It was just so awesome to celebrate Christ ressurection and sharing that with so many guest! On Friday I went to a famlies house and watcehed the passion... it had been about 2 years since I saw it and I think I can wait another two years to see it again. Christ is amazing and I know we don't deserve what He did for us, watching it this time made me so upset with humans and how we treat Christ and how we treat each other. I was appalled, but it deeply impacted me!

Easter I went and hung out with the family I made the cake with. We had a great time spending it with the families of the people Craig works with. That night Grace and I drove to Dublin and Susie made us this fabulous dinner! I was and still am quite impressed with it all!

Ok this was quite the update and I need to get over to eat lunch with the staff.
If I could give you all hugs I would... instead you will just have to know you are loved and you have a special place in my heart!

PS the picture is proof to my mother that I made the cake!

Ok, I'm not sure what language "pa tu tu" is... Missourian, I expect... but that is one stinking cute bunny cake (Just the like baby). And I'm oh so glad I didn't have a hand in it, because I can see that his melty little ears just wouldn't have been the same if I'd broken them in half.

p.s. Whit doesn't read your blog, does he??

Great cake Mel...thanks for keeping the Easter tradition up. You out did yourself this year. We missed having you and the cake at our house...it was a quiet Easter (not that you make too much noise), but quite uneventful without you or Brandon and Carole. Thanks for making me smile at the cake. Your the best!

Love you!

So it looks like some stories come true then. You updated and people commented.

Cool cake, it looks good enough to eat, and now I'm going to have to go raid my fridge because it made me hungry.

Don't worry on the laundry thing. I would be going to bed now, but I have to wait for the dryer so I have work clothes in the morning. I wish I had enough money to just buy new clothes every day, and then at the end of the day give them to charity. No laundry that way.

So is Mel a closet Vanilla Ice fan???? I thought they were extinct.

I'll keep you in my prayers regarding the foot, but hey on the bright side, no crazy guy hitting on you at the gym......

In all honesty, I'm glad you had a good easter. Keep up all the great work you do with the kids in the church, and remember the difference you make in their lives everyday, even when you are stressing out trying to do a million things at once. Like your mom said "your the best"

Mel, I don't appreciate you coming on my blog and talking negativly about yourself! :) I can relate to you. I haven't updated my blog in quite a while, but, unlike you, I don't have people begging me to post something new....what do you think that means?
The cake looks awesome! Very nice! Sorry to hear about your foot. I'll put you on my prayer "injured list".
Nick and I had a quite Easter. The church service was awesome, but it didn't "feel" like Easter. That's what happens to the holidays when you get older until you have kids. Anywho, no use taking up any more blog space. Take care, and talk to you soon!
